APPLE AND CHESTNUT CRUMBLE – IBY FLOUR

Ingredients

Ingredientes da Massa:

100g de manteiga ou margarina gelada em cubos

65g de açúcar

50g de açúcar mascavo

1 pitada de sal

175g de farinha de Castanha do Brasil Iby

1 colher de sopa de açúcar demerara

 

Ingredientes da Recheio:

1kg de maçãs

Suco de 1 limão

1 xícara de castanhas levemente torradas e quebradas

1 pitada de canela

1 pitada de noz moscada

4 colheres de sopa de açúcar demerara

Manteiga ou margarina para untar

Preparation method

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 400F.

Place the flour, salt, and sugars in a large bowl and mix well. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time, rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, chill.

Combine apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, demerara sugar, and Brazil Nuts.

Butter an ovenproof dish. Spoon the fruit mixture into the bottom, then sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until the crumble got browned and the fruit mixture bubbling.

Serve with thick cream or custard.
